How do I get a boyfriend?

I'm in the 8th grade (14 yrs) and I have never kissed/dated/had any sort of romantic relationship in my life. At school it feels like the guys only want the popular girls, which I am not. I'm not a nerdy geek, but at school I tend to act like a real goody-goody and I like to be the best in cl (my projects are always get the highest grades and I am one of the smartest girls in my cl). Guys don't even consider me. I am not ugly, but i dont cake on the foundation and eyeliner like the other girls. I don't have the normal peroxided bleached hair and I think i may look a bit boring. There are plenty of guys i could go for, but i don't like them because they are really annoying geeky and not the best lookers (i want a boyfriend, but i don't want to be desperate and take anybody even if i don't like them.) I have had plenty of crushes but i am always too shy to talk to them properly. When i do i say stupid unfunny stuff and look like a weirdo. How can i get a guy to like me in that sort of way? What do guys like? Should I act more "easy"? Is flirting creepy? I feel like a huge big loser asking all of this on the internet and i must sound like a really sad person, but i feel like a failure when everyone else has those moments and i am just the boring shy goody goody with no life. Please help me i cant go through the rest of my high-school life like this.
