Cherokee N.C. help needed?

We are going in the 1st part of Oct. we will be staying at the KOA campground. What are some things to do in and around Cherokee, we are going to do the Tuckasegee River train excursion, we are going to go to Harrah's Casino, hiking in the mts. those are the only things we have planned we are going to be their for 8 days. so any tips on things or places to go and do also some good places to eat would be a big help.
